Shark Lookin's life began in Illinois 21 years ago. He was bred as a racehorse and spent multiple years running on the track. After racing, he joined a loving Amish family and was their buggy horse for the next 15 years. It's time for Sharky to retire from daily hard work. We are thankful to his family for reaching out and allowing us to give him a safe and loving home.

Oakley is a bay 8 year old thoroughbred gelding, a warhorse with 60 starts.

After his 60th race on September 18th 2024, it was discovered that Oakley had a fracture to his right hind ankle. His racing career was over.

He was taken to Sugarcreek auction by his race owner who took home a measly few hundred dollars for a race horse who once sold for $80,000.

Oakley had been let down. He subsequently bounced around the auction circuit landing in the hands of a dealer in Belfast, NY.

Upon rescue, he was found to be sick with strep zoo and strangles.

If left untreated, he would have died in the next few days due to the inability to swallow and his high fever. After nursing him back to health, he began physical rehab and then training.

Oakley progressed so nicely in his training that he was able to head to the Hampton classic where he demonstrated his skills engaging with the public. It was at the Hampton Classic that he met his adopter Cally. It was love at first sight for the both of them and his adoption is the final victory for Golden Oak.
